We are packing up and getting ready to head into Erie for the bridal show at the Ambassador tomorrow! If you are engaged this is *the* show to attend! 50 vendors that span many categories and a fashion show. Come get some great ideas and stop by my booth and say hello!

Extreme Makeover Home Edition comes to Erie, PA!

So Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover crew have embarked on a new mission right here in Erie! With the help of Maleno Real Estate & Development one lucky family is getting a brand new home! Clara Ward is the lucky winner of this amazing gift, read about her inspiring story at the Maleno Extreme Makeover website!

What’s this have to do with HNP? I was honored to be recommended to help photograph the progress and document things for the builders [ the Maleno family ] along with Rachel at Puremotif photography and design. Rachel is shooting the first half before jetsetting to fabulous Italy with her hubby! I’ll pick up on Sunday afternoon and shoot through the rest of the week. So I won’t be spending too much time in the studio but if you email or call and leave a message I will try to get back to you as fast as possible!

Yesterday was so much fun seeing everything come together prior to the door knock, meeting the cast and crew and of course sitting in *the* bus :) I can’t post photographs here on my site but you can watch the progress by checking out the photos on the Maleno site. Go check out the great pictures Rachel has taken so far that were posted from Day 1 and the press conference and Pep Rally prior.

Want to help out? There are a ton of side projects going on to help the entire Erie area — blood drives, canned food drives and more. You can check out the Grace church’s website for details! I hope you will help in any way you can!

Saturday’s Baby Idol Photoshoot and Voting Begins Today

Saturday was so much fun – it was like a baby parade at the studio! So adorable and they were all in such great moods it made my job easy!  Three of the babies that I photographed made it into the finals and you can go vote for them at the Star104 website. Got a Cute Kid? — Star 104’s Baby Idol | Erie PA

So I’m finally getting around to posting about your exciting opportunity! Star 104 is hosting its Baby Idol again this year and your favorite photographer [ that is me, right?! ] is photographing the portraits. Baby Idol is a beautiful baby competition where you and your child can win $500 for Babies R Us! There is an open casting call where I will be photographing 30 babies [ 18 months and under ] next Saturday, March 14th from 11am until 1pm here at the studio. MORP Pictures…

Last Saturday we squeezed some time into our schedule to go to North East High School and photograph their MORP dance. We only had a couple days notice before the dance so we didn’t get to come up with some elaborate backdrop to feature the kids on but it was still a good time! It looked like the kids were having a really great time and DJ Joel Miller was on top of his game, as expected. I’d only seen him at weddings up until last Saturday and thought he was a great disc jockey but it was fun seeing him at a dance – I’d hire him, he knows how to get everyone dancing! During slow times Murl and I played a little bit and thought I’d share those just for something different!

Its still a work in progress at the moment but we are getting closer to being open! October is Family Portrait Month

I want to share with you a very special family portrait promotion that HNP is participating in along with an elite group of photographers from around the country. This October, we will celebrate “Family Portrait Month,” a wonderful opportunity for you to update your family portrait, and at the same time help support Operation Smile, which treats children around the world who suffer with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.

Along with other studio members of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), we have pledged to contribute $25 per family portrait session to PPA Charities.

What’s more, we want you to benefit from this special offer: If you make a donation of at least $10 towards Operation Smile you will receive a free 8×10 from your session.

Recording the faces of children and their families is our greatest pleasure. That’s why we believe so strongly in the work of Operation Smile. Each year this incredible organization of more than 5,000 volunteer doctors, nurses, dentists, and specialized health-care professionals, perform free reconstructive surgeries for children suffering with facial deformities. It costs only $240 to perform a life-changing cleft lip operation. More than 100,000 children are born with a facial deformity each year in Operation Smile’s 25 partner countries.

We also believe that Family Portrait Month is a wonderful way to teach children the value of reaching out to others. Even small children can understand the importance of Operation Smile’s work, and they are eager to help these needy children.

We hope you will join with us in helping to make this vital work possible. Don’t forget that the holiday season is right around the corner, so there’s no better time for a family portrait, which is always appreciated as gifts for family and friends and to send along with holiday greeting cards.

Currently, HNP is only one of a handful or photographer’s in northwestern Pennsylvania participating in this event. If you are interested in a family portrait session and to help a child get their smile back, please make your appointment as soon as possible. The calendar is filling up already!

Grand Opening Announcement!

I am excited to inform you that my grand opening will be held on June 8th and 9th! Times will be announced shortly. Free passport photos are available to everyone who comes down on either day!
