We just flew in from California late last night and the trip was absolutely amazing. It was my first time in Cali and we did so many fun things while we were out there. We photographed two families at their homes in Berkeley, which I will share on the blog in the upcoming weeks, celebrated my birthday skiing at Squaw Mountain in Tahoe where my cake read “Heather is 28…and hot!” [ Thanks, Murl! 
], ate way too much yummy food and drank wine in Napa and Sonoma, spent some time at the Pier in San Francisco and best of all, hung out with family that we don’t see nearly often enough.
That is a shot of the vineyards surrounding the Robert Mondavi winery in Napa Valley. Now it is back to the real world [ and the gym… and a more reasonable calorie intake! ]. I will be responding to emails and phone calls starting on Monday. I will be posting both Heather & Nate and Kelley & Mike’s engagement sessions today and Monday.

The angle, to emphasize both the sky and the twisty vines before they leaf out, the California poppies–it’s brilliant! I’m homesick.
And I gather from your invite to women’s vollyeball that whatever injury you sustained on the mountain is one you’ve recovered from?
